A modern Georgian Bay cottage for four generations

Named for its location on the stunning south shore of Georgian Bay, a big cottage called Christie Beach includes spaces both big and small for a family’s four generations.

The 6,000-square-foot retreat features an expansive green roof on top of the cottage’s rec room. Living space is divided to offer privacy, with an east and west wing linked by a courtyard and glass pavilion.

The courtyard, with an outdoor fireplace, faces away from the lake and offers a protected outdoor zone when winds bear down from across the bay.

One wing of Christie Beach holds the master suite, bathroom and home office, as well as a private deck. The other wing includes a sauna looking out across the bay, two-car garage, workshop and ground-floor bedroom. Up on the second floor are bedrooms for adults and a bunkroom for grandkids…
